As the Monarch & Pollinators Engagement Coordinator at The Field Museum, in the fall of 2023 I designed and co-hosted an educational workshop that was presented to members of the Chicago Community Gardeners Association, focused on how to effectively and ethically harvest native seeds. This session blended science-based guidance, real-world gardening experience, and accessible storytelling to help participants confidently and responsibly collect, store, and grow native plants.
